Millions of users were unable to tweet or share stories for more than an hour as the bird app was experiencing issues globally with Large numbers of users across the US, Europe and Africa unable to post tweets, access their timelines or see notifications.
A notice posted on Twitter’s status page on Thursday October 15, said the company was “Investigating Irregularity with Twitter APIs.”

According to DownDetector.com, reports of problems with Twitter began to spike just after 5:30 p.m. ET, and soared to over 45,000 by 5:42 p.m.
