A member of the House of Representatives representing Iseyin/ Itesiwaju/ Kajola/Iwajowa Federal Constituency, Shina Peller, has spoken on the controversial ‘Hate Speech Bill’.
According to him, ‘Nigeria is faced with a lot of problems that are more critical than Hate Speech’
In a recent interview with NASS NEWS, Shina Peller said, ‘the constitution provides for freedom of speech and expression for the citizenry, so whatsoever bill that will truncate is dead on arrival.
There are existing laws that provides punishment for those set of persons who propagate fake news/Hate speech – The only regulation that the social media in Nigeria needs, is ‘identity verification’.
