Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Foreign Affairs and Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa has reacted to report of two students of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO) who attended an international table tennis competition in Croatia and ended up in a Bosnian refugee camp.
Two students identified as Abia Uchenna and Eboh Chinedu had arrived in Zagreb, capital of Croatia on November 12, for the fifth world inter-university championships held in the country.
The students reportedly claimed they ended up in a refugee camp after being apprehended by police officers while taking a walk around the country’s capital.
However an update on the incident by Abike Dabiri-Erewa disclosed that the two students stayed back and applied for assylum after the competition ended. She further disclosed that the Nigerian Ambassador to Hungary is on the matter.
